What we did

• •We built the desktop application in C# and .NET with Windows Presentation Foundation. It served as the user-facing part of the solution and coordinated the steps needed to monitor the target location, submit new documents for parsing, and act on keyword matches.
• •We made the monitoring interval configurable so the application could check the folder on a schedule suited to the workflow. During each scan, the system identified newly added documents and evaluated parsed content against the configured keyword list rather than relying on fixed search terms.
• •The protected network drive required custom handling before the application could inspect its contents. We created a C# class capable of enumerating files in the password-protected location, allowing the monitoring process to reach documents in the intended source directory and resolving the folder’s main access constraint.
• •Because the client did not have high-powered processing hardware available, we separated the desktop workflow from document parsing. An ASP.NET service hosted on DigitalOcean handled parsing for newly discovered PDFs, while the Windows application coordinated folder checks, keyword-match handling, and user notifications.
• •When parsed content contained a configured keyword, the application sent an email about the matching document. The delivered workflow connected protected-folder monitoring, hosted parsing, keyword detection, and notification, giving users a direct way to surface relevant incoming documents through the requested system.
